Kariong EOC

Near the Kariong EOC is this group of aboriginal rock engravings that features a pair of large bird designs that may represent emus or perhaps scrub turkeys.

This is a carving of a child size figure and nearby is a fish laying in a depression that fills with water when it rains.

This appears to be an eel in another depression that fills with water.

Beside the eel is this engraving of a kangaroo. Unfortunately the forepaw has worn away. This is a false colour image.

We saw a bird shaped engraving next to some small fish like ones on the track that runs ajasent to the fire trail along the top of rat gully.

I wondered if anyone one knew it was there as people have been riding their bikes and motor bikes over it.

We have been searching the internet to find some info on the area and the engraving .

The engravings at Rat Gully sound interesting. We will visit there soon and photograph the site.
